ELSIE'S JOURNEY 1,000 Miles by Horse & Wagon Elsie was born with a rare and as yet unknown disease that meant she could not move her body or limbs. Despite the hard work, dedication and collective efforts of the consultants and nurses at the Liverpool's Women's Hospital, Elsie's complications from her condition meant that there was nothing more that could be done for her, and treatment was stopped. Her parents, master wheelwright Phill Gregson and his wife Emily, a veterinary suregeon, wish to make a legacy in her name and are planning to undertake a memorable journey this summer: This journey will take them past many landsmarks that represent their story and history, using their skills and determination to help mothers along the way, raising funds, learning, teaching, and having an adventure. They are raising funds for the charities that supported their family during Elsie's illness. Those that will benefit are Alder Hey, Claire House Children's Hospice, and Liverpool's Women's Hospital.
